Deolinda Dias Rasteiro is Professor Adjunto at Physics and Mathematics Department of Coimbra Superior Engineering Institute. Doctorate on Mathematics, field of Network Optimisation. Professor at ISEC teaching undergraduate (Statistic and Probability Methods to Mechanical Engineering) and graduate levels (Applied Mathematics to Master of Eletrotechnical Engineering and Master of Biomedical Engineering). She has experience in leadership since she was ISEC's Vice-President from 2006 until 2010 and she is a member of ISEC's Technical Scientific Board. She was responsible for ISEC’s International Relations Office from 2006 to 2010. She was responsible for the organisation of the "92nd European Study Group", Coimbra, 2013.
Researching on new methods to present Mathematics to students has been her priority in the last years where some papers have been published with titles closely related to the project, such as: "Understanding the difficulties in mathematics of engineering students in the transition from second to third level education", "Contributions of b-learning in the teaching of mathematics in engineering: an effective shared responsibility of students", "Lesson Moodle for a self-directed learning of mathematics".
